This is the face of a guy who can't believe America just elected him president.
Donald Trump never wanted to be president in my opinion. He just wanted the glory of running and having a bunch of people cheering for him and eventually using his platform to increase his brand and create his own TV network.
His catch phrase "Make America Great Again" was akin to the phrase "You're Fired". He was a reality TV star who knew how to come up with catchy phrases and sound bites that audiences would latch on to. His gain in the polls was due to an electorate that wasn't a fan of Secretary Clinton and who also felt that they were being left behind in the 21st century economy.
His net worth is largely valued by his name and persona and not due to his actual value to the US economy. A Bill Gates, Elon Musk, or a Warren Buffet he wasn't. A self-obsessed star in search of an audience who couldn't stop his political "Trump train" once it gained steam he was.
He has zero political experience but wooed a party that believed a "successful" businessman could turn our economy around (an economy which has had 80 consecutive months of job growth and a 4.9% unemployment rate). He has zero military experience but openly doubts CIA intelligence and said that he knows "more than the generals do".
In our Kardashian-laden, reality TV obsessed world, it only seems appropriate that a realty TV star would catch a perfect storm and find just enough electoral votes (but not popular votes) to get him elected to president of the United States.
I, like any American, hope that he isn’t as extreme as he seemed on the campaign trail and that he is successful in leading our country for the next four years. But if the last year and a half of his campaign are any indication, I highly doubt that will happen.
